Saudi merchandise imports rise to SAR 67.4B in March

Saudi Arabia’s merchandise imports rose 1% year-on-year (YoY) to almost SAR 67.4 billion, according to data issued by the General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT).

Meanwhile, merchandise imports increased 1%, or nearly SAR 673.8 million, month-on-month (MoM), as follows:

Imports of machinery and mechanical appliances; electrical equipment, and their parts topped in March, representing 24%, or SAR 16.2 billion, of the total Saudi imports.

 

Vehicles, aircraft, vessels, and associated transport equipment came second at 14%.

Saudi Arabia’s imports came mainly from China in March, valued at SAR 14.3 billion or 21% of the total.

 

The US and the UAE followed with SAR 5.9 billion and SAR 4.7 billion, respectively.

 

The top 10 exporters to Saudi Arabia accounted for almost 63%, or SAR 42.3 billion, of the total imports in March, as shown below:
