Saudi Arabia elected as ECOSOC member for 2025-2027 term

Saudi Arabia was elected as a member of the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) for the 2025-2027 term, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

 

The New York-based ECOSOC has 54 member states. The council seeks to achieve the three dimensions of economic, social and environmental sustainable development, as well as encourage discussion and innovative ideas. In addition, it coordinates efforts to achieve internationally agreed goals.

 

Through its membership, the Kingdom aims to achieve social empowerment through providing opportunities for all, mitigating the effects of climate change, risks, and international digital transformation to enhance the quality of life and progress in sustainable development goals.
