GAC grants judicial immunity for 2 establishments revealing partners in violations

The General Authority for Competition (GAC) accepted, in a meeting held today, June 13, the request for reconciliation or judicial immunity for two establishments that took the initiative to reveal their partners in violations, and to reject the reconciliation request for one establishment.

The authority also took a number of decisions, including the initiation of criminal cases against four establishments for agreeing to set prices of breast milk substitutes sector.

It also reviewed the results of the study and investigation with a number of establishments after they agreed to determine and propose replacement prices for gas cylinders. The Authority approved taking the necessary measures against four establishments and assigning them to correct their conditions and adhere to the competition law and its executive regulations.

Moreover, it reviewed the results of the study and investigation into two establishments in the communications and information technology sector, and decided to dismiss the case because they were not found to have violated the competition law and its executive regulations.
