The Oversight and Anti-Corruption Authority (Nazaha) initiated on May 30 an investigation into the collapse of a residential building in the Al-Faisaliyah neighborhood, Jeddah.

The investigations were conducted through coordination with a committee formed by the Emir of Makkah Region.

The authority indicated that the building collapse led to seven deaths and eight injuries, due to corrupt practices in issuing building permits. All individuals involved have been detained, and legal proceedings are underway, Nazaha said, confirming its commitment to enforcing the law with zero tolerance for corruption.
