The US stock and bond markets are observing an official holiday today, June 19, in celebration of "Juneteenth," also known as "Freedom Day." Trading will resume tomorrow, June 20.

On June 18, stocks rose, with the S&P 500 index reaching a new record high. Semiconductor companies, particularly NVIDIA, led the gains with a 3.5% increase in their stocks.

NVIDIA surpassed Microsoft as the world's most valuable company, with its stock rising 174% since the beginning of the year, fueled by the artificial intelligence (AI) boom.
