Saudi Arabian banknotes
Saudi bank loans granted to non-financial government institutions and the private sector rose 11% to SAR 2.81 trillion in May 2024, compared to nearly SAR 2.52 trillion in May 2023, according to data issued by the Saudi Central Bank (SAMA).
Private sector lending also increased 11% year-on-year (YoY) to SAR 2.65 trillion in the same month.
Meanwhile, loans granted to non-financial government institutions jumped 21% YoY to about SAR 162.6 billion by the end of May.
