121,500 commercial registers issued in Q2 2024: Ministry

The Ministry of Commerce issued a total of 121,500 commercial registers in Q2 2024, a rise of 78% from 68,220 in the year-earlier period, according to its quarterly bulletin on the performance of the local business sector.

 

Accordingly, the total number of commercial registers rose to about 1.46 million Kingdom-wide.

 

Geographically, Riyadh, Eastern Province and Makkah came on top in terms of the number of commercial registers issued by region during the three-month period, with rises of about 42%, 17% and 16%, respectively, as indicated in the following table:

In detail, about 44,760 of the total commercial registers were issued by the ministry in Q2 2024 for limited liability companies, with eight others were granted to limited partnerships.

 

Further, as many as 142 commercial registers were issued to joint-stock companies, while 50 and 55 others were handed over to simplified joint-stock and general partnership firms, respectively.

 

By the end of the second quarter of 2024, total commercial registers in the Kingdom amounted to roughly 1.52 million, led by Riyadh with about 482,700, or 32%, of the total. Makkah followed with about 342,800 registers, as shown below:
