AMAK names Nihat Soyer new Acting CEO

Almasane Alkobra Mining Co. (AMAK) announced the expiry of the employment contract of Acting CEO Christopher Gerard Warwick, as his last working date will be on July 4, 2024.

 

In a statement to Tadawul, the company said that its board of directors decided, on July 4, to appoint Nihat Soyer as Acting CEO, effective as of the same date.

Soyer is a mining engineer with over 30 years of experience in the mining industry, having worked in both open pit and underground mines in Turkey, Albania, Kyrgyzstan, and Saudi Arabia.

 

He studied mining engineering and obtained a bachelor’s degree in mining engineering from Middle East Technical University, Ankara, Turkey, and a master's degree from the same university

 

Moreover, Soyer is a registered professional engineer, a member of the Australian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy, and a member of the Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE).

 

Nihat joined AMAK as Project Manager in 2018, and before that, he worked on different projects for international and Turkish companies for more than 25 years, the company added.
