Oil tanks
US crude oil inventories fell by 3.4 million barrels in the week ended July 5, compared to expectations for a 700,000-barrel drop, the Energy Information Administration (EIA) data showed.
Gasoline stocks also declined by two million barrels, while distillate stocks, which include diesel and heating oil, rose by nearly 4.9 million barrels.
