The US natural gas inventories increased by 65 billion cubic feet (Bcf) during the week ended July 5, above expectations of an increase of 56 Bcf.
Total natural gas reserves amounted to 3.19 trillion cubic feet, an increase of 9.7%, or about 283 Bcf, compared to the same period last year, the data from the US Energy Information Administration showed.
The current inventories are higher by 18.7%, or about 504 Bcf, above the five-year average (2019-2023) of 2.69 trillion cubic feet.
