Engineering jobs to be localized as of tomorrow: HRSD

The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development (HRSD), in collaboration with the Ministry of Municipal, Rural Affairs and Housing, announced that 25% of the engineering professions will be localized starting from July 21.

The ministry explained in a statement today, July 20, that the localization rates will be applied to private establishments employing five or more workers in engineering professions. It emphasized the necessity for establishments to comply with a the regulations to avoid legal penalties.

The Ministry of Municipal Affairs confirmed that it will implement this decision, which aims to increase participation in the labor market. The ministry will oversee its implementation in accordance with the labor market requirements and the specialization of engineering professions.

The ministry pointed out that private establishments will benefit from incentives and support programs provided by the Human Resources and Social Development system to assist establishments in employing Saudis.

These include support for the recruitment and search process for suitable workers, support for necessary training and qualification processes, support for employment and job retention processes, in addition to prioritizing access to all available localization support programs from the system, and support and employment programs through the Human Resources Development Fund (Hadaf).
