Saudi Arabian Military Industries (SAMI) signed two new agreements with its strategic partners Lockheed Martin and Airbus Helicopters.

In a statement, SAMI said the move aims to expand the group's capabilities in maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) of C-130 Hercules aircraft in the Kingdom with Lockheed Martin. In addition, SAMI seeks to establish a center for helicopter maintenance and repair with Airbus Helicopters.

Under the first agreement, Saudi Arabia, through SAMI Alsalam Aerospace Industries, joins an exclusive group of 14 countries that have certified MRO service centers for C-130 Hercules aircraft from Lockheed Martin.

Abdulsalam Al Ghamdi, Executive Vice President of SAMI Aerospace, said the step will enhance the C-130 Hercules fleet by providing MRO and engineering services according to the highest global quality standards, as well as system and structural modification services.

In addition, SAMI Alsalam Aerospace will provide support to operators of these aircraft regionally and internationally.
