SGS CEO resigns, Mohamed Mazi takes helm

Saudi Ground Services Co.’s (SGS) board of directors accepted today, July 24, the resignation of CEO Raed Al-Idrissi, based on the recommendation of the nominations and remuneration committee, effective as of Aug. 31, due to personal reasons.

 

The board also appointed Mohamed Mazi as CEO, effective as of Sept. 1, as per the nominations and remuneration committee’s proposal, SGS said in a statement on Tadawul.

 

 

Mazi has been the company’s Executive Vice President of Finance and Business Development since Jan. 1, 2020. He has held several other positions such as Executive Vice President of Commercial Affairs, Executive Vice President of Operations, and Chairman of the Operational Executive Committee for Hajj and Umrah Operations.

 

He earned a bachelor's degree in Accounting from the University of New Orleans and an MBA from Texas A&M University, US.

 

Mazi has over 15 years of experience in financial management and business development. He has held leadership roles, including CFO at Al Salem Johnson Controls and Head of Budgeting and Performance Reporting at Saudi Arabian Oil Co. (Saudi Aramco).
