US Oil inventories decline more than expected

Crude oil inventories in the US fell more than expected in the week ended July 19, according to a report released by the Energy Information Administration (EIA) today, July 24.
 
Crude oil inventories fell by 3.7 million barrels last week, compared to expectations for a drop of 2.6 million barrels.
 
Meanwhile, gasoline stocks decreased by 5.6 million barrels as demand picked up, and distillate fuel inventories were down by 2.8 million barrels.
