Saudi Arabia's international reserve assets grew by 0.1%, or SAR 1.1 billion, month-on-month (MoM) to SAR 1.75 trillion in June 2024, hitting its highest level since November 2022, according to the Saudi Central Bank (SAMA).

Saudi reserve assets include investments in foreign securities, foreign cash and deposits, reserve position in the International Monetary Fund (IMF), special drawing rights (SDRs), and monetary gold.

Foreign currency reserves, representing about 95% of total assets, rose by nearly 6% year-on-year (YoY) in June to SAR 1.66 trillion.
Moreover, IMF reserves dropped 11% YoY, while special drawing rights (SDRs) edged down 1% YoY, as shown below:
