The number of Shatirah House Restaurant Co.'s (Burgerizzr) branches reached 103 by the end of H1 2024, said CEO Mohammed Al-Kaoud, revealing that there are three branches under construction in new areas and that the company continues to expand in new cities and areas.

 

In an interview with Argaam, the top executive added that the food and restaurant sector is huge and has promising growth opportunities due to several factors, most notably high demand and consumer behavior, which requires understanding customer requirements and developing products

Al-Kaoud also stated that the decline in Q2 profit was a result of the repercussions of the crisis that the restaurants sector witnessed last May, which affected the sector in general and burgers in particular. However, "We successfully overcame it and regained positive performance in June. Customer confidence is great and continuous, after the official authorities revealed the reasons that led to the crisis in May, sales numbers in all our branches returned to their normal levels," he said.

The company's performance at the beginning of the second quarter was consistent with the positive performance in the first quarter and the previous year. The performance of the branches was positive in Q2 2024, thanks to the noticeable increase in average sales per branch.

 

Operational efficiency is constantly improving due to the modernization of equipment, which contributes to enhancing the quality and performance, according to the CEO.

 

He pointed out that sales via the Burgerizzr app are constantly growing, noting that the app sales are comparable to other delivery apps due to the focus on developing the company's app and the advantages Burgerizzr provides to its customers through loyalty programs.

 

As for the developments in the company's application to transfer from the Nomu-Parallel Market to the main market (TASI), Al-Kaoud stated that Burgerizzr has met the requirements of the Capital Market Authority and Tadawul. The application was submitted on June 13, 2024, and the company is following up with the relevant authorities for any additional requirements.

 

Asked about his expectations for the company's performance in H2 2024, the CEO said: "We see that the company's future is promising, and we expect it to continue to record positive results and bolster its growth plans with the opening of new branches.”

 

Burgerizzr net profit more than doubled to SAR 6.7 million in the first half of 2024 from SAR 3.3 million in the year-earlier period, data available to Argaam showed.
