US oil inventories lose 3.7M barrels

US crude oil inventories slipped by 3.7 million barrels in the week ended Aug. 2, contrary to expectations for a 1.6-million-barrel drop, the Energy Information Administration (EIA) data showed.

 

Gasoline stocks, on the other hand, added 1.3 million barrels, with distillate stocks, including diesel and heating oil, also soaring by roughly 900,000 barrels.
