GEA licenses 1,529 entertainment activities in Q2 2024

The General Entertainment Authority (GEA) issued 1,529 licenses in the second quarter of 2024, a 7.3% increase from 1,425 licenses issued in Q2 2023.

 

In a statement, GEA said that the majority of licenses were granted for live performances in restaurants and cafes, totaling 523 licenses. Moreover, 433 licenses were issued for entertainment events, 322 for entertainment shows, 93 for entertainment parks, and 60 for crowd management and organization.

 

The number of licensed entertainment destinations reached 97 in the second quarter.

 

Additionally, the number of event visitors during the second quarter of 2024 exceeded 16 million, marking an increase of nearly 130% year-on-year (YoY) from seven million visitors.

 

GEA added that the number of field visits saw a remarkable rise of 301% YoY. The number of visits increased from 5,200 in Q2 2023 to 20.88 thousand in Q2 2024.
