Prices of 111 Saudi commodities, services rise in July

Prices of 111 goods and services in Saudi Arabia increased year-on-year (YoY) in July, while prices of 52 commodities declined and six others stabilized, official data issued by the Saudi General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT) showed.

 

Among 92 food products, local onion was the top riser, up 45.2% YoY, followed by local potatoes with an increase of 39.76%. Local green pepper was the biggest decliner, falling 12.49% YoY.

 

Meanwhile, prices of 31 construction materials rose, while seven materials decreased YoY. Red sand prices saw the most significant rise of20.38% YoY, while the prices of Chinese steel linkage cables declined the most, with an annual drop of 8.45%.

 

Prices of most fodder and livestock products increased last month.

 

Out of the four miscellaneous personal services and commodities, three rose in July.

 

Prices of all health services witnessed an increase YoY in July.

 

Prices of all detergent products increased last month compared to the same month the previous year.

 

Elsewhere, prices of the two services under the maintenance and repair of personal means of transportation were up in the same period.

 

The price of one hotel and furnished apartment services rose on an annual basis in July, while the price of the other service fell YoY during the same month.

 

Under the tobacco category, the price of Marlboro declined YoY during July.
