US President Joe Biden urged voters at his Democratic Party's national conference on Monday to support his running mate in the upcoming election to protect the country's democracy.

Biden called former President and Republican candidate a "failure and convicted criminal," accusing him of pushing Republican lawmakers to block a bipartisan asylum law deal earlier this year.

He also criticized Trump's immigration record, claiming Trump lies about border issues, while he and Vice President Harris are committed to strengthening legal immigration.

Biden said Trump sends a false message to world leaders that America is just and the Democrats are losing, but in reality, Trump is the one losing. He emphasized that no nation doubts the US is just.

He added that America leads the world, which is better off with the US, and that the country is safer now than during Trump's presidency.

Biden claimed Trump lies about crime rates, which surged by 30% under Trump's leadership, marking the biggest increase in US history.

He stated that his administration made the largest-ever investment in public safety, noting crime rates are now dropping at a record pace and will continue to decline with a prosecutor in the White House instead of a convicted criminal.
