Saudi Arabia ranked the 15th in annual container throughput in the 2024 edition of the Lloyd’s List One Hundred Ports, up from 16th last year, the Saudi Ports Authority (MAWANI) said.

 

According to the international report, the Kingdom's ports have strengthened their international position, as Jeddah Islamic Port jumped from 41st to 32nd rank globally, recording about 5.59 million twenty-foot equivalent unit (TEU) last year, compared to 4.96 million TEU in 2023, a rise of 12.6%.

 

King Abdullah Port ranking also advanced from 71st to 70th place, with about 2.93 million TEU in 2023, up 0.8% compared to 2.91 million TEU in 2022. Meanwhile, King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam leapt from 90th to 82nd place, with about 2.31 million TEU in 2023, compared to 2.04 million TEU in 2022, soaring 13.1%.
