Ibrahim Al-Omar, Director General of Saudi Arabian Airlines (Saudia), revealed that 55% of domestic economy class tickets were sold for less than SAR 300 during the first half of 2024.

In an interview with the Socrates, an Arabic podcast, the official said that 39% of tickets sold were priced between SAR 300 and SAR 685, while only 6% exceeded SAR

685.

Al-Omar attributed the rise in ticket prices to travellers booking late, typically only two or three days before departure, especially during peak seasons.

The group conducted promotions for the National Day and the Founding Day, resulting in the sale of 330,000 tickets at an average price of SAR 128, he stated.
