Solar farm
Global electricity generation from solar farms exceeded wind energy supplies in May and June, becoming the most reliable renewable energy source.
Solar power generation globally outpaced wind power by 1.65 terawatt-hours in May and 9.57 terawatt-hours in June, according to data by energy think tank Ember.
Estimates for July and August are pending, but the trend is expected to continue as these months typically mark the peak of solar power generation in the northern hemisphere, Reuters reported.
However, this trend may reverse next month as the sun's angle shifts. Notably, solar power only surpassed wind power in June and August last year.
