Small & Medium Enterprises General Authority (Monsha'at) stated that 56 companies are exploring the possibility of granting franchises following the second round of the Saudi government's franchise program.

The move aims to enhance growth and expand investment opportunities for companies operating in the local market, Al Eqtisadiah newspaper reported.

There are more than 1,143 franchising brands in Saudi Arabia, with local and foreign brands reaching 474 and 669, respectively.

The government program, involving eight entities, aims to reach more than 200 franchise brands by the end of its rounds in 2026.

Monshaat pointed out that it will complete the franchise round in the Qassim region, which is the third station out of 14 stations around Saudi Arabia, during the period from Sept. 9-10, 2025.

According to data available with Argaam, Monsha'at initiated a franchise round on Aug. 12-13, starting with Al-Khobar Governorate. The event aims to introduce services and programs within the franchise field, aligning with Vision 2030 goals.

Monsha'at added that the round will cover five cities and governorates, Al-Khobar, Abha, Qassim, Hail, and Jeddah. Next year, it will extend to seven more cities and governorates. The round will conclude its activities in two regions by 2026.
