GAC files criminal lawsuits against some contracting, maintenance, food companies

The General Authority for Competition's (GAC) board of directors issued a number of decisions and directives, during a meeting held on Aug. 25, according to a statement.

 

The board reviewed the results of the study and investigation with six establishments in the operation and maintenance sector, and decided to file criminal lawsuits against two establishments for violating the Competition Law and its Executive Regulations. It also approved the study of settlement requests submitted by four establishments.

 

Moreover, GAC's board reviewed the results of the study and investigation into the possibility that a number of establishments operating in the food and beverage sector completed the economic concentration process without notifying the Authority. It decided to file a criminal lawsuit against an establishment.

 

It also agreed to take the necessary procedures for investigation, research, gathering evidence and investigating the possibility that two establishments operating in the contracting sector and related parties violated any of the provisions of the Competition Law and its Executive Regulations.
