US natural gas inventories rose by 40 billion cubic feet (bcf) in the week ending Sept. 6, below the expected increase of 49 bcf.
The US Energy Information Administration reported today, Sept. 12, that total natural gas inventories reached 3.387 trillion cubic feet (tcf), 6.2% (198 bcf) higher than the same period last year.
Inventories are also 9.6% (296 bcf) above the five-year average of 3.091 tcf.
