Saudi Aramco aims to establish itself as a key player in the liquefied natural gas (LNG) market, according to Khalid Al-Ghamdi, Aramco’s Executive Vice President of Gas.

Al-Ghamdi said at the 2024 GasTech Conference in Houston that Aramco has already taken initial steps towards achieving this goal, Reuters reported.

Saudi Aramco signed final agreements in September last year to acquire a strategic minority stake in MidOcean Energy Co. for $500 million. The company recently increased its stake to 49%.
