GIG reappoints Yousef Abalkhail as Chairman, Bijan Khosrowshahi Vice Chairman

Gulf Insurance Group’s (GIG) board of directors decided to reappoint Yousef Abalkhail as Chairman and Bijan Khosrowshahi as Vice Chairman, the insurer said in a statement to Tadawul.

The board also approved the formation of the executive committee, with members including Paul Adamson (Chairman), Khalid Al-Shuwaier (CEO) and Ali Hendel.

Further, the nominations and remuneration committee was approved, with members including Hani Obaid (Chairman), Paul Adamson, Caroline Bertrand, and Bader Alrabiah.

The board approved the formation of the risk committee, along with investment, asset and liability management committee.

In a separate statement, the insurer announced the formation of the audit committee for the current three-year term ending on July 31, 2028, based on the decision of the board of directors.

The audit committee consists of Khalid Al-Turaifi (Chairman), Turki Obailan, and Bader Al Jeraisy.

The board meeting was held on Aug. 15, and the company received the Insurance Authority’s (IA) no-objection for the decisions on Sept. 26, the statement added.
