Alexander Voronkov, CEO of Russia's Rosatom Regional Center in the Middle East and North Africa, said that Saudi Arabia is evaluating the technologies that could be used for its first nuclear power plant, noting that Rosatom will participate in this process.

According to Al-Eqtisadiah newspaper, Voronkov added that the cooperation with Saudi Arabia in nuclear energy is strong, based on a government agreement signed in 2015. He emphasized that Rosatom is open to collaboration with all countries in the region and is ready to offer its extensive expertise and support in all areas of national energy development.

Based on the company’s experience, the long-term use of nuclear energy creates opportunities to improve the quality of life and the development of science and education.

According to Argaam data, Saudi Minister of Energy, Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman, said last September that Saudi Arabia is proceeding with its national nuclear energy project, including the construction of its first nuclear power plant, to contribute to shaping the energy mix for sustainable national development within the framework of international commitments.
