Bandar Alkhorayef, Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources
Saudi Arabia ranks first in the Arab world and tenth globally in cement production, with an annual output capacity exceeding 80 million tons from 20 domestic factories, according to Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar Alkhorayef, as reported by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
The minister highlighted the growth in the production capacity of Saudi cement companies, which meets the demands of the local market and the Kingdom’s development projects while also contributing to global supply. In 2023, Saudi cement and clinker exports exceeded 8.48 million tons.
In his remarks at the launch of City Cement Co.'s first sustainability report, Alkhorayef noted that domestic demand for cement reached approximately 47.3 million tons last year.
He added that with spending in the construction sector projected to reach SAR 6 trillion by 2030, cement demand is expected to rise significantly due to the ongoing large-scale development projects in the Kingdom.
