Al-Ibrahim emphasized that this project will unlock new opportunities for Gulf electrical interconnection with Iraq.

He noted that the Gulf energy sector is progressing steadily, with the interconnection network expansion between the GCC countries and Iraq set to be launched in December.

Al-Ibrahim also mentioned that the Gulf electricity market will provide long- and short-term trading options, giving Iraq flexibility in importing energy from various countries and fostering price competition to secure the best rates.
