Qassim's mineral resources are estimated at SAR 122.3 billion, according to Jarrah Aljarrah, spokesperson for the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources, in a post on X.
He added that Qassim is a rich reservoir of precious metals, including gold, silver, copper, and lead, along with tin, granite, tungsten, and molybdenum.
The value of gold is estimated at SAR 87.7 billion, bauxite (SAR 24.6 billion), zinc (SAR 4.7 billion), copper (SAR 4 billion), and silver (SAR 1.4 billion), according to the official.
Aljarrah also noted that the region contains 35 mineralized belts, including 16 gold belts, 15 for copper and lead, three for nickel, and one for zinc.
Qassim also holds eight sites for phosphate ore reserves and a mining complex for bauxite activities, the official said. He highlighted the province's 32 mining complexes are dedicated to building materials, including 17 for gravel, nine for sand, and six for backfill materials.
Moreover, the region is home to 580 factories, with 84% of industrial facilities concentrated in four main cities: Buraidah, Unaizah, Al-Rass, and Al-Badayea, he stated. The leading industrial sectors in the region include food and beverages, basic products, pharmaceuticals, as well as the production of rubber and plastic products.
