Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Secretary General Jasem AlBudaiwi said the council is discussing exempting all GCC countries from the Schengen visa with the European Union (EU).

Speaking to Al-Ekhbariya, Al-Budaiwi noted that GCC citizens' presence in Europe benefits sectors like tourism, education, and healthcare. The GCC private sector has a large presence in Europe and imports many European goods, he added.

He said that the presence of GCC citizens brings economic and social benefits to European countries, which is why efforts are being made to facilitate their stay in Europe.
