Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Interior extended today, Oct. 17, a 50% discount on accumulated traffic fines. The decision, applicable to fines issued before April 18, 2024, will be effective for an additional six months, Saudi Press Agency reported.
The ministry urged road users to adhere to traffic rules to enhance road safety. It emphasized that violators could take advantage of the discount through settling all accumulated fines before April 18, 2025. Payments can be made in one lump sum or individually for each violation, provided that no new violations endanger public safety.
The extension follows directives from King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
In April 2023, the ministry initially announced a 50% reduction on accumulated traffic fines, applicable to violations recorded before April 18, 2024. Violators are required to pay all fines within six months of the decision enforcement, either in full or per violation, without committing further serious traffic violations.
