135,900 commercial registers issued in Q3 2024: Ministry

The Ministry of Commerce issued 135,900 commercial registers in Q3 2024, a rise of 62% from 83,450 in the year-earlier period, according to its quarterly bulletin on the performance of the local business sector.

Women accounted for 45% of the total registrations in Q3 2024.

Geographically, Riyadh, Eastern Province and Makkah came on top in terms of the number of commercial registers issued during the three-month period, with rises of about 39%, 18% and 15%, respectively, as indicated in the following table:

In detail, about 39,890 of the total commercial registers were issued by the ministry in Q3 2024 for limited liability companies, with 21 others were granted to limited partnerships.

Further, as many as 249 commercial registers were issued to joint-stock companies, while 73 and 71 others were handed over to simplified joint-stock and general partnership firms, respectively.

The total commercial registers reached 1.51 million in all regions, including 1.13 million for institutions and 389,410 for companies.

Of the active commercial registers, 38% are owned by young people, and 46.8% are owned by women.

Riyadh topped the regions in terms of existing records with about 495,520, or 33%, of the total. Makkah followed with about 335,000 registers, as shown below:
