The Cabinet, chaired by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, praised the inclusion of 11 new countries in the Middle East Green Initiative during its session in Riyadh today, Oct. 22, the Saudi Press Agency reported.

 

The Cabinet expressed hope that more nations would join the initiative launched by the Crown Prince as a global model to achieve its ambitious environmental goal of combating climate change.

 

Further, the Cabinet confirmed that the selection of Saudi Arabia as the host of the 27th  World Energy Congress 2026 underscores  the Kingdom’s leading role in the energy sector and its commitment to energy transition initiatives aimed at fostering a more prosperous and sustainable future.

 

The Cabinet also welcomed the Kingdom’s hosting of the EU-GCC Summit in 2026, expressing hope that the event would further boost bilateral relations, in line with King Salman's vision of enhancing Gulf cooperation and fostering strategic international partnerships.
