Kamala Harris and Donald Trump
Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump was 1 point ahead versus Democratic candidate Kamala Harris in the latest polls, only two weeks before the US presidential elections to be held on Nov. 5.
The Financial Times monthly poll and Michigan’s Ross School of Business showed that 44% of registered voters trust the Republican candidate more when it comes to economy, compared to 43% for Harris.
When asked which candidate would put them in a better financial position, 45% chose the former President—five points higher than the previous month—while 37% voted for the current Vice President.
The poll also found that voters view economic issues, such as jobs and the cost of living, as the most important factors in selecting a presidential candidate.
Separately, a new poll by The Wall Street Journal showed Trump leading by a narrow margin—just two percentage points—in the presidential race.
Trump received 47% of the votes in the survey, which included 1,500 voters from Oct. 19 to 22, while Harris garnered 45%.
Additionally, voters' views have become more optimistic toward Trump. They recall his previous presidency more positively than at any other point during the current election cycle.
