US 10-year treasury yield falls from three-month highs

The yield on the US 10-year Treasury dipped on Thursday, easing from the near three-month highs reached in the previous session, as traders continue to digest the US monetary policy outlook.

 

The two-year Treasury yield fell by 2.5 basis points (bps) to 4.062% at 4:20 pm Makkah Time. Meanwhile, the 10-year Treasury yield slid about two bps to 4.22%, and the 30-year Treasury yields shed almost 1.5 bps to 4.499%.

 

The benchmark 10-year Treasury yield had climbed to its highest level since late July on Wednesday.

 

Initial jobless claims data released Thursday came out at 227,000 for the week ending on Oct. 19, lower than 242,000 a week earlier and estimates of 245,000.
