ACWA Power’s investments in Africa reach $7B

ACWA Power Co. announced that its current investments in Africa surpassed $7 billion.
 

The Redstone concentrated solar thermal power (CSP) plant in South Africa achieved a production capacity of 50 megawatts (MW), with expectations to reach its maximum capacity of 100 MW in the coming days, the company said in a statement.

 

The successful synchronization of the Redstone CSP to South Africa’s national grid is enabled by ACWA Power's collaboration with Herlogas and SEPCO III.

 

Additionally, the Kom Ombo Photovoltaic (PV) plant in Egypt reached its full production capacity of 200 MW.

 

According to data available with Argaam, ACWA Power’s portfolio includes 90 plants under operation, construction or in advanced stages of development, with an investment value of SAR 355.47 billion. They produce 65 gigawatts of electricity and about 8 million cubic meters of desalinated water per day.
