US natural gas inventories rise to 12th week

US natural gas inventories rose by 69 billion cubic feet (bcf) in the week ended Nov. 1, slightly above the anticipated 64-bcf rise.

 

This is considered the 12th successive weekly rise for natural gas inventories.

 

Total natural gas stocks reached 3.93 trillion cubic feet (tcf), up 4.2%, or approximately 157 bcf, compared to the same period last year, according to data released today, Nov. 7, by the US Energy Information Administration (EIA).

 

Additionally, inventories are 5.8%, or around 215 bcf, above the five-year average (2019-2023) of 3.68 tcf.
