Ministry of Industry issues 35 mining licenses in September

The Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources issued 35 new mining licenses in September.

These included 24 exploration licenses, seven building materials quarry licenses, three reconnaissance licenses and one mining and exploitation of small mines license, the Ministry added.

The total number of active mining licenses in the sector reached 2,295 by the end of September, led by building materials licenses (1,461), followed by exploration (566).

The mining and exploitation of small mines came in third with 203 licenses, followed by reconnaissance (42 licenses) and surplus mineral ore (23 licenses).
