Assets of public investment funds in the Kingdom rose to SAR 145 billion in Q2 2024, an increase of 6% from SAR 136.7 billion in Q1 2024, data from the Saudi Central Bank (SAMA) showed.

 

 

The increase was driven by the rise in assets of local funds by 8% quarter-on-quarter (QoQ) to SAR 125 billion, which represents 86% of total assets. Meanwhile, assets of foreign funds, which represent 14% of total assets, fell by 5% QoQ to about SAR 20 billion.

 

The assets of local and foreign investment funds include stocks, bonds, cash instruments, other assets, and real estate investments.

 

 

The public investment funds are divided into open and closed funds, with the total assets of open funds at about SAR 116.2 billion, or 80% of the total assets, while the value of the assets of closed investment funds reached nearly SAR 28.8 billion.

 

 

The number of active public investment funds at the end of Q2 2024 reached 305, compared to 298 in Q1 2024.

 

 

The number of subscribers to investment funds rose by about 68,000 QoQ at the end of Q2 2024 to reach about 1.23 million subscribers.
