US crude oil inventories rose against forecasts in the week ended Nov. 15, according to a report released by the Energy Information Administration (EIA).
Crude oil inventories added 500,000 barrels last week, versus the Wall Street survey expectations of an 800,000-barrel decrease.
Gasoline stocks increased by 2.1 million barrels, contrary to projections of a 200,000-barrel drop. Meanwhile, distillate stocks, including diesel and heating oil, lost nearly 100,000 barrels, above estimates of a 400,000-barrel slump.
