The Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources organized a consultative meeting with success partners from relevant government agencies to discuss the major topics related to land affairs and mineralized belts, and to review methods of joint cooperation and proposed initiatives to facilitate procedures for using government lands and their optimal exploitation.
The meeting began with a review of the Ministry's strategy for the mining sector, and its plan to offer sites for global tenders within the scope of the 21 mineralized belts, whose area is estimated at 106,424 square kilometers until 2027, SPA reported.
The Ministry emphasized commitment and adherence to environmental requirements during exploration operations, rehabilitating the condition of lands after mining operations to their original status, and success stories in the sector and the positive economic and social impact of mining in developing the less developed areas in the Kingdom.
Furthermore, the partners discussed the challenges facing government agencies and the initiatives that contribute to facilitating land allocation procedures and their optimal utilization. Mechanisms were proposed for cooperation between agencies in the government land allocation processes and accelerating their procedures, thus maximizing the value achieved from these government lands.
