Al Gassim Investment Holding Co. (GACO) said the Administrative Court of Appeal ruled today, Dec. 10, to accept its appeal against the Ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture over cultivated land claims.

The court overturned the previous decision and referred the case back for review, according to a statement on Tadawul.

GACO said the appeal was accepted on procedural grounds, nullifying the prior ruling and sending the case to the relevant judicial circuit for further consideration.

In August, GACO received an administrative court ruling in Riyadh stating it lacked jurisdiction to hear the company’s case against the ministry regarding ownership of the remaining cultivated land area.

In May, GACO filed a grievance with the dispute resolution committee on fallow lands, seeking full ownership of the cultivated area.

The committee rejected the request and escalated the matter for royal consideration.

In June, the company filed a lawsuit with the Riyadh Administrative Court to claim the remaining cultivated land area after the committee’s decision.
