Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman announced establishing the Supreme Commission for Hosting the 2034 World Cup following the FIFA’s announcement that Saudi Arabia will host the tournament.

 

According to the state-run SPA, the Saudi Crown Prince chairs the Board of Directors of the Supreme Commission. It includes prominent officials such as Prince Abdulaziz Al-Faisal, Minister of Sports; Prince Abdulaziz bin Nayef, Minister of Interior; Prince Badr bin Farhan, Minister of Culture; Mohammed Al-Sheikh, Minister of State and Member of the Council of Economic and Development Affairs; Majid Al-Hogail, Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing; Mohammed Al-Jadaan, Minister of Finance; Abdullah Al-Swaha, Minister of Communications and Information Technology; Ahmed Al-Rajhi, Minister of Human Resources and Social Development; Engineer Saleh Al-Jasser, Minister of Transport and Logistics Services; Ahmed Alkhateeb, Minister of Tourism; Fahad Al-Jalajel, Minister of Health; Engineer Ibrahim Al-Sultan, Minister of State and Chairman of the Development Authorities Support Center; Turki Al-Sheikh, Chairman of the General Entertainment Authority (GEA); Yasir Al-Rumayyan, Governor of the Public Investment Fund (PIF); Royal Court advisors Fahad Tunisi and Abdulaziz Tarabzoni; and Yasser Al-Misehal, Chairman of the Saudi Arabian Football Federation.

The announcement underscores Saudi Arabia’s commitment to delivering an exceptional edition of the most prestigious football tournament, becoming the first nation in history to host the event with the participation of 48 teams from all continents. This initiative reflects the unparalleled support and attention the sports sector receives from King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
