Saudi Arabia allows individuals to import personal vehicles

The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) gave the green light for individuals to import personal vehicles through its land and sea customs ports, allowing individual importers to file the necessary documents and complete the vehicle import procedures directly through the authority's website.

To submit a request to import personal vehicles by individuals, the importer must first register on the authority's website and then choose the vehicle import service and create a new request, by filling in the vehicle information and customs declaration, uploading the required documents, and then submitting the request, ZATCA said in a statement.

The authority also indicated that this service is optional and not mandatory.

Further, ZATCA provided a detailed user guide for this service through its website, breaking down the service and the steps for submitting requests to import personal vehicles for individuals, paired with detailed information to help make the best use of the service.
