The General Authority for Foreign Trade (GAFT), led by Chairman Majid Al Qasabi, has imposed final anti-dumping duties on imports of PVC-coated fabrics from China and South Korea.

It all started when the Trade Remedies Deputyship (TRD) received a formal complaint on Oct. 11, 2023, supported by evidence from local manufacturers.

The complaint claimed that PVC-coated fabric imports from China and South Korea were dumped into the Saudi market at unfairly low prices, hence harming domestic producers.

The complainants—FPC Industries Co. and Obeikan Technical Fabrics Co. —represent 100% of the local production of similar goods, being qualified as the “domestic industry” under Article 1 of the Trade Remedies Law, Umm Al-Qura newspaper earlier reported.
