New rule requires dealers to warrant imported cars: Report

17/12/2024 Argaam

The recent decision permitting individuals to import vehicles directly from overseas manufacturers also mandates that local dealers provide warranties for these imported cars, Al Eqtisadiah reported, citing government sources.

The newspaper further reported that local dealers must supply spare parts and repair services to consumers, or face penalties under existing regulations.

The Zakat, Tax, and Customs Authority recently enabled individual importers to import personal vehicles through its land and sea customs ports. This allows individuals to submit the required documents and complete the import procedures directly through the Authority’s website, according to available data on Argaam.
