Saudi holdings of US Treasuries fall to $139.2B in October

Saudi Arabia’s holdings of US Treasury bonds reached $139.2 billion in October, down $4.7 million month-on-month, new data released by the US Treasury showed.

 

Accordingly, the Kingdom maintained its 17th place among the largest holders of US Treasuries for the month.

 

Saudi Arabia’s holdings of US Treasuries were distributed among long-term bonds worth $111.9 billion, representing 80% of the total. Meanwhile, short-term bonds amounted to $27.3 billion, accounting for 20%.

 

Japan was the top holder of US Treasury bonds by value in October, with $1.10 trillion, followed by China ($760.1 billion).
